Bio
Bobby Jones was named an assistant men's basketball coach at Dallas College North Lake in September 2024.
He assists with player development, running team practices, souting and film responsibilities and administrative duties.
Prior to North Lake, he served as the head coach with the Dallas Mavericks eSports team from 2023-24. In 2022-23, he was an assistant coach with Mavs Gaming.
Before beginning his roles with the Mavs, Jones served as the team operations coordinator with the Indianapolis Pacers eSports team in 2022.
In 2021-22, Jones was an assistant basketball coach with Las Plumas High School boys team in Oroville, California. The Thunderbirds went 19-10 overall, 11-1 in the Butte View League to win the league championship.
Jones was a professional NBA 2K League player for Lakers Gaming in 2021. A year prior to that, he was an NBA 2K player for Pacers Gaming.
From 2016-20, Jones served as Grand Canyon University men's basketball team student manager under head coach Dan Majerle. The Lopes tied for second in the Western Athletic Conference in 2016-17 with a 22-9 overall, 11-3 conference record. In 2017-18, GCU went 22-12, 9-5 in the WAC. The Lopes advanced to the WAC Tournament championship game, and made a postseason appearance in the College Basketball Invitational. In 2018-19, Grand Canyon went 20-14, 10-6 in the WAC with another trip to the conference tournament championship game. The Lopes played at West Virginia in the CBI postseason tournament.
Jones earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from Grand Canyon in 2020.
