Bio

Allen Smith was named an assistant coach of Dallas College North Lake men's basketball team in 2020. 

Smith was part of a staff that guided North Lake to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national tournament in 2023-24. The Blazers went 29-4 overall, 10-0 in the Dallas Athletic Conference to win the league regular season title. North Lake also captured the NJCAA Division III South Central District championship. The Blazers won 23 straight games to end the season, and went 16-0 at home. They were ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA Division III poll most of the season. Jakob Zenon was named NJCAA Division III National Player of the Year.

In 2022-23, North Lake went 25-8 overall, 10-0 in the DAC. The Blazers were 16-0 at home, and won 21 straight games. They advanced to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament for a second straight year after winning the DAC regular season and NJCAA Division III South Central District titles. 

He helped the Blazers capture the 2021-22 NJCAA Division III National Championship, following a 25-7 season. Greg Crawford was named the NJCAA Division III National Player of the Year. 

Smith played at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament's Most Valuable Player in 2010. He was also named to the SWAC All-Tournament Team, and was awarded the Sixth Man of the Year Award at Pine Bluff in 2010.

Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Science, while majoring in industrial technology.
