North Lake Returns to Court Saturday at Grayson

NORTH LAKE MEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake men's basketball team will resume play to begin 2025 in a road game at Grayson College 4 p.m. Saturday.
It is the second year in a row the Blazers (5-12) returns from the holiday break to play the Vikings (8-7). North Lake competes at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III level, while Grayson is an NJCAA Division I school.
The Blazers are coming off a 68-48 loss to Dallas College Richland before the Christmas break. The Vikings dropped their last game, 82-64, Dec. 10.
North Lake was ranked No. 13 in the final NJCAA DIII poll of the 2024 calendar year. Grayson is unranked.
Blazers sophomore guard Autavius Hobbs is averaging 13.8 points and 1.2 steals, shooting 83 percent from the free throw line. Sophomore guard Adonai Rezene is scoring 10.6 points per game, while shooting 93 percent from the free throw stripe. Sophomore forward Anden Holmes is averaging 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Justin Whitmore is averaging 7.9 points and 5.5 rebounds.
Grayson sophomore guard Marcus Burnett is averaging 18.8 points, 6.4 boards and 2.3 steals, while shooting 48.7 percent from the floor and 40.2 percent from the three-point line. Sophomore guard Terrance Ramirez is scoring 14.3 points, and sophomore forward Croix Cox and sophomore guard Nicholas Anthony are good for 12.5 points and 11.8 points, respectively. Cox is pulling down 9.6 rebounds.
North Lake beat Grayson last season, 80-70, on the road on the same weekend in the new year.
The Blazers' first home game of 2025 is 6 p.m. Wednesday against Loyalty College Prep.
