Zenon Collects Second NJCAA Player of Week Honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College North Lake's Jakob Zenon was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

It is the second time this season he has received the national honor.

A 6-foot-4 sophomore guard/forward from Fort Worth, Texas, Zenon averaged 27.5 points, 11 rebounds and 2.5 steals, while shooting 50 percent from three-point range in a pair of wins for the Blazers last week. He had a career-high 36 points, hitting 10 of 17 triples, and matched his career best with 12 rebounds in a win at Dallas College Mountain View. His 10 threes were also a career high. Zenon also had a double-double in a win over Dallas College Cedar Valley, scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 boards.

Zenon is averaging 19.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. He is shooting 47.7 percent from the floor, 43.2 percent from 3-point distance and 85.3 percent from the free throw line.

North Lake (22-4, 8-0 Dallas Athletic Conference) will play at Dallas College Eastfield (17-11, 6-2) at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The No. 2-ranked Blazers host Dallas College Brookhaven 1 p.m. Saturday in the final regular season home game.
