IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake handed Dallas College Eastfield its first loss since Nov. 20, cruising to a 90-69 win Wednesday night in the Blazer Dome.

Ranked No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll, North Lake extended its winning streak to 12 straight. Meanwhile, No. 12 Eastfield's 11-game winning streak was snapped in a game pitting the top two teams in the Dallas Athletic Conference.

North Lake (18-4, 4-0 DAC) built a 49-34 halftime lead. Eastfield (14-10, 3-1) cut it to nine midway through the second half. But the Blazers used Jakob Zenon and Bryson Smith's hot shooting to halt the Harvester Bees' comeback bid. Smith finished with 24 points and a career-best 10 rebounds, while going 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the second half. It was his fourth double-double of the season – the first time he accomplished the feat with double-digit rebounds. Zenon scored 20 points, including 12 after the break. He canned four of North Lake's eight triples, and was 7 of 10 from the floor and 4 of 6 from long distance.

Anden Holmes scored nine points, Ring Deng eight and Jermey Irwin seven – with all but three of those combined 24 points coming in the first half. Randy Woolf had a career-high 10 boards and five points. Daylen Webb matched a season high with 11 rebounds. Irwin had six rebounds and two blocks. Josh Jackson grabbed a season-high five boards, and Autavius Hobbs scored six points.

North Lake grabbed 13 of its 57 rebounds on the offensive end. It was the 10th time this season the Blazers have finished with 10 or more offensive rebounds.

Eastfield's Vashney Wright III and Javen Hutton each scored 14 points. Joshua Williford had 10, Dwayne Reliford nine and Jayden Jackson eight.

North Lake was 30-for-38 at the free throw line. Eastfield hit 12 of 23 free throws. The Blazers shot 41.3 percent from the floor and 53.3 percent from the three-point line. They were 8 of 15 from beyond the arc.

The Blazers play at Dallas College Brookhaven (13-9, 2-2) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
