Men's Basketball Rallies Past Mountain View

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to beat a gritty Dallas College Mountain View team, 76-67, Saturday in the Blazer Dome.

Ranked No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll, North Lake (17-4, 3-0 Dallas Athletic Conference) trailed, 37-30, at halftime. Mountain View, which is playing without two starters, maintained its lead midway through the second half.

But a basket by Blazers forward Ring Deng on a dish from Randy Woolf tied the game at 50. North Lake then canned three big three-pointers during a second half surge that pushed the Blazers in front for good. North Lake outscored Mountain View, 46-30, in the second half.

North Lake swingman Jakob Zenon scored 18 of his 26 points in the second half, hitting two of the Blazers' six triples after the intermission. Deng had eight of his 10 points after the break, and Woolf scored all nine of his points in the second half to key the comeback win. Anden Holmes scored 15 points, 12 of which came in the first half. Bryson Smith had nine points.

Mountain View's Joshua Smith finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. He was 9 of 13 from the floor. Bryant Smith had 11 points on 4 of 7 shooting. Daniel Cervantes and Tracy White both had eight points.
