Men's Hoops Cruise Past Crusaders

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake men's basketball team beat Dallas Christian College Prospect Team, 111-51, Friday night in the Blazer Dome.

The No. 3 nationally-ranked Blazers improved to 13-4.

Daylen Webb scored a season-high 24 points, and Jakob Zenon had 21 as both North Lake forwards hit eight two-point field goals apiece. Blazer guards Randy Woolf and Bryson Smith each scored 17 points. Webb was 10 of 13 from the floor, and matched Jermey Irwin with a game-high eight rebounds. Zenon went 8 of 13, and had five boards and a steal. Woolf hit seven of nine shots, and finished with eight assists and five steals, which matched his season high. Smith connected on eight of 14 field goal attempts, and had seven assists and five rebounds.

Dallas Christian's Jacobee Giles and Michael McCleod each scored eight points.

North Lake jumped out to a 14-7 lead on a putback by Webb. Isaiah Mitchell hit a three-pointer for Dallas Christian to make it 20-12. North Lake's Anden Holmes scored on a runout pass from Zenon as the Blazers scored the next three baskets. Smith's 3-point field goal with 4:34 remaining in the first half, and a dunk by Webb 24 seconds later extended the lead to 35-19.

North Lake took a 46-26 lead into halftime.

Dre Quattlebaum buried a 3 early in the second half as the Crusaders answered the Blazers' first five points. Zenon scored on a transition feed from Smith to extend North Lake's lead to 30. Autavius Hobbs' bucket on an assist from Jeremy Watkins made it 72-35.

Elijah Moraros' putback around the 9:15 mark capped a 7-2 run for the Blazers. Watkins threw down a dunk a little over a minute later to push the lead to 83-39. Moraros converted a three-point play inside the 3:00 mark to give North Lake a 101-43 advantage.

Moraros grabbed a season-high seven rebounds, and had two steals. 

It was the second game in the week the Blazers went over 100 points.

North Lake is scheduled to host Dallas-Fort Worth Prep 6 p.m. Tuesday before Dallas Athletic Conference play begins Jan. 20 at Dallas College Richland.
