Blazers Tip Off Second Half of Season Saturday at Grayson

Dallas College North Lake's third-ranked men's basketball team returns to the court for the second half of the season 4 p.m. Saturday in a road game at Grayson College in Denison, Texas.

The Blazers' next home game is Jan. 10 against Arlington Baptist University Red.

North Lake (11-4) will be meeting Grayson (7-8) for the first time in program history. The Blazers, who own the No. 3 spot in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings, have won their past five. The Vikings, coming off a 79-64 loss to Paris Junior College Dec. 14, compete in NJCAA Division I.

This game is the last remaining contest on the Blazers' schedule against a scholarship junior college opponent. North Lake is 6-4 against NJCAA Division I teams this season, and 7-4 against Division I and II teams cocmbined.

Sophomore swingman Jakob Zenon is averaging a team-best 19.2 points and 1.9 steals, and grabbing 5.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 45 percent from the floor, 42 percent from the three-point line and 83 percent from the free throw stripe. Sophomore guard Randy Woolf is averaging 11.9 points, 3.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals, and is shooting 52.6 percent from the field, 40.4 percent from 3-point land and 73 percent from the stripe. NJCAA Division I junior college sophomore transfer guard Bryson Smith is scoring 13.5 points, while dishing out a team-high 5.5 assists, pulling down 4.1 rebounds and coming up with 1.5 steals. He is shooting 45.1 percent from the field, 48 percent from long range and 73 percent from the free throw line.

Sophomore forward Ring Deng is averaging 13.7 points and 4.3 rebounds, while leading the team in field goal percentage (59.5), and shooting 53.6 percent from 3-point country. Freshman forward Jermey Irwin is shooting a team-best 85.7 percent from the free throw stripe, and is shooting 52.4 percent from the field. Freshman guard Autavius Hobbs is scoring 6.6 points, and has an 80 percent free throw percentage. Freshman forward Anden Holmes is averaging 5.8 points, while shooting 42 percent from the floor and 70 percent from the free throw line.

Grayson's Aaron Lemon-Warren is averaging 16.5 points and 6.1 rebounds, shooting 51 percent from the field, 45.5 percent from three-point range and 86 percent from the free throw line. Terrance Ramirez is averaging 15.9 points, and shooting 48.7 percent from the floor. Ronny Raphael is averaging 12.7 points, and shooting 56 percent from the floor. Chol Deng is averaging 11 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals. Gum Majak leads the Vikings in rebounds (6.5), and Croix Cox is tied with Lemon-Warren for second on the team at 6.1 boards per game.

The Blazers are scoring 82 points per game, while the Vikings are averaging 81.8. North Lake is allowing 72.5 points per contest, while Grayson is giving up 78.4.

North Lake is 3-3 on the road. Grayson is 6-3 at home.
