North Lake Climbs over Hill

HILLSBORO, Texas -- Dallas College North Lake's third-ranked men's basketball team won a nip-and-tuck affair at Hill College, 62-61, Monday night.

Jakob Zenon scored 27 points in a game the Blazers (8-4) pulled out to even their road record at 3-3, with each of the trio of wins coming at the expense of a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I opponent. North Lake competes at the NJCAA Division III level.

Zenon, who finished with six three-point goals, scored in double figures for the 11th time in 12 games this season.

The Blazers, who led 33-31 at halftime, were 9-for-13 from the free throw line. Hill (6-5) sank 10 of 14 shots from the stripe in an evenly called game. Both teams were whistled for 12 fouls.

Ring Deng finished with 12 points, becoming the only other North Lake player in double figures. Anden Holmes scored all of his eight points in the first half. Randy Woolf also finished with eight points. Hill's Isaiah Randolph scored 16 points, Cameron Estill 12, and Gob Gob 10. Randolph had 11 points in the second half.  

North Lake will begin a three-game homestand 1 p.m. Saturday against Loyalty College Prep, following the completion of the fall semester finals week.
