Jones to Compete in NJCAA All-Star Game Saturday

Dallas College North Lake men's basketball player Darion Jones will compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association Men's Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
Players from all three NJCAA Divisions will compete in the All-Star Game. Dallas College Richland's Ed Trahan was also chosen to compete. Both Jones and Trahan will represent the South All-Stars.
Jones, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound sophomore guard from Austin, Texas, was an NJCAA Division III Second Team All-American this season. He also was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player and a First Team All-DAC selection.
He averaged 14 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Jones reached double figures in 23 games, and scored 20 or more points seven times. He finished with a career-high 25 points in two games.
Jones was named the NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week Nov. 24.
