Jones Selected for NJCAA All-Star Game

Dallas College North Lake's Darion Jones was selected to compete in the NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game May 20 in Las Vegas.

Dallas College North Lake's Darion Jones was chosen to play in the National Junior College Athletic Association Men's Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game May 20 in Las Vegas.

The game will tip off at 6:30 p.m. CT at Orleans Arena, and will include players from all three NJCAA divisions.

A 6-foot-3, 185-pound guard from Austin, Texas, Jones was an NJCAA Division III Second Team All-American. He was also named the Dallas Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player and a First Team All-DAC selection.

Jones averaged 14 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game. He scored in double figures in 23 games, and had 20 or more points seven times, including a career-high 25 twice.

Jones was named the NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week Nov. 24.

Dallas College Richland forward Ed Trahan was also selected to play in the All-Star Game.
