Zenon Named DAC Player of the Week
Dallas College North Lake's Jakob Zenon was named the Dallas Athletic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week.
A 6-foot-4 freshman guard/forward from Fort Worth, Zenon averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and two blocks, and had a steal and an assist in a pair of conference wins for the Blazers last week. He shot 15 of 32 from the floor, and went 4-for-5 from the free throw line.
Zenon was 10 of 17 from the field and 3-for-3 from the free throw line, while scoring 24 points, grabbing 10 boards, including three on the offensive end, and blocking three shots in North Lake's 75-55 victory at Dallas College Richland. He scored 13 points, and had a steal and a block in a 77-65 win over Dallas College Brookhaven.
Zenon has scored in double figures in five straight games, bumping his scoring average to 11.2 points per game this season.
Ranked No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll, North Lake improved to 16-6 overall and 3-0 in the DAC. The Blazers are scheduled to play at Dallas College Cedar Valley 6 p.m. Wednesday and host Dallas College Eastfield 1 p.m. Saturday.
