IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake men's basketball team moved up to No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings.

North Lake opened the preseason as the No. 1-ranked team in the country on the heels of last year's NJCAA DIII national championship. The Blazers were ranked No. 3 last week. North Lake has been ranked in the Top 5 every week since Dec. 12, and in the Top 10 since Nov. 21. The Blazers have found themselves in the Top 15 all season.  

The Blazers (14-6 overall, 1-0 Dallas Athletic Conference) have won 10 straight games, and are coming off an 88-64 victory over Dallas College Mountain View in the league opener Saturday on a day where North Lake basketball alumni were recognized.

Freshman guard Jakob Zenon scored 20 points for the second game in the week. He's scored 20 or more in three straight games, dating back to a 21-point performance on Jan. 13. Zenon shot 58 percent from the field in that three-game stretch, going 21 of 36. He also had three steals, three rebounds and a block in the win over Mountain View.

Sophomore forward Da'Ryan Williams had 19 points, six rebounds, including four offensive boards, three assists and a steal. Sophomore guard Darion Jones had 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Sophomore forward DeKyre Fuller had 14 points, three rebounds and a steal. Sophomore point guard Brandon Lawrence finished with nine points, four assists and two steals. Freshman forward Ring Deng had six points, 10 boards, four steals, two blocks and two assists.

North Lake hosts Dallas College Brookhaven 6 p.m. Wednesday before going on the road to play at Dallas College Richland 1 p.m. Saturday.
