North Lake Returns to Court Saturday, Hosts Dallas Christian at 1 p.m.

IRVING -- Dallas College North Lake men's basketball will open the 2023 portion of its schedule 1 p.m. Saturday at home against Dallas Christian College Junior Varsity.
The No. 5 nationally-ranked Blazers (9-6) have rattled off five straight wins, dating back to a Dec. 1 win over Concordia University JV.
First-year head coach Josh Mills' club is averaging 80.2 points per game, while opponents are scoring 67.5. North Lake is shooting 46.6 percent, while opponents are hitting 47.5 percent of their field goal attempts.
Darion Jones is scoring 13.6 points per game, while Da'Ryan Williams is averaging 13.1. Brandon Lawrence is good for 12 points, while averaging a team-best 3.5 assists per game. Jones is averaging 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals. Williams is pulling down 5.3 boards per game, and accounts for 0.7 blocks per contest. DeKyre Fuller is scoring 8.5 points, and Ryan Pondant and Jakob Zenon 8.1. Jesse Peart is third on the team in rebounding at 4.6 per game.
The Blazers are outrebounding opponents, 35.4 to 19.4.
North Lake will play at Southwestern Adventist University Tuesday before beginning a four-game homestand Jan. 13. The Blazers host Dallas College Mountain View Jan. 21 and Dallas College Brookhaven Jan. 25 in the opening week of Dallas Athletic Conference play during that home stretch.
