Zenon Chosen as DAC Player of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's Jakob Zenon was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

It is the fourth time this season he has won the league's award.

A 6-foot-4 guard from Fort Worth, Texas, Zenon averaged 27.5 points, 11 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists in a pair of wins last week. Zenon scored a career-high 36 points, draining 10 of 17 three-point field goals, and had 12 rebounds, three steals and three assists in an 88-62 win at Dallas College Mountain View. His 10 triples also were a career high. He shot 59.1 percent from the field, going 13 of 22. In an 83-81 victory over Dallas College Cedar Valley, he had 19 points, 10 rebounds and two steals, while going 5-for-5 from the free throw line.

His two double-doubles for the week gave him three this season.

Zenon is averaging 19.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 43.2 percent from 3-point range and 85.3 percent from the free throw line.

Ranked No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll, North Lake (22-4, 8-0 DAC) will play at Dallas College Eastfield (17-11, 6-2) at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
