Angus Named First Team All-DAC, 5 Others Second Team Picks

DALLAS – Dallas College North Lake catcher Noah Angus earned First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors, while five other Blazers were Second Team picks.

A sophomore from Haslet, Texas, Angus batted .319 with seven home runs, 12 doubles, 37 runs batted in and three stolen bases. He had a season-high three hits in three games, and drove in five runs at Dallas College Cedar Valley April 12. He threw out 25 of the 31 runners attempting to steal.

Outfielders Robert Farr and Leo Salas, designated hitter Michael Holden and pitchers Branden Kirtley and Logan Stark earned second team honors.

A sophomore from The Colony, Texas, Farr hit .375 with two home runs, seven doubles, four triples, 27 RBI and 19 stolen bases. He collected four hits against Dallas College Eastfield April 5, and drove in three runs in two games.

Salas, a freshman who hails from Haltom City, Texas, batted .298 with five homers, 12 doubles, 33 RBI and four stolen bases. He had a season-best five hits against Dallas College Brookhaven March 22, and drove in four runs at Dallas College Richland a week later.

A freshman from Fairview, Texas, Holden hit .348 with a home run, 16 doubles, a triple, 44 RBI and two stolen bases. He had four hits in three games, and drove in five runs at Dallas College Cedar Valley April 12.

Kirtley, a freshman right hander from Santa Rosa, California, went 3-5 with three saves, a 6.47 earned run average and 60 strikeouts in 64 innings pitched. He struck out a season-high 10 batters in a complete game shutout of Dallas College Mountain View April 19.

Stark, a freshman right hander from Katy, Texas, was 1-2 with a 5.17 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 31.1 innings. He struck out six batters in three games.
