Coreas Named DAC Pitcher of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's Daniel Coreas was chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

A freshman right hander from Sugar Land, Texas, Correas tossed 5.1 innings of scoreless relief as the Blazers knocked off host No. 5 Dallas College Richland, 11-7, in the final game of a three-game series last week. He struck out a season-high six batters, did not allow a walk, and gave up two hits in the win.

Correas improved to 2-1 with a 3.32 earned run average and 16 strikeouts in eight appearances this year.

Following Monday's game at Paris Junior College, North Lake (15-17, 7-5 DAC) opens a three-game series at No. 2 Dallas College Eastfield (28-7, 11-1) Wednesday at noon. The Blazers host the league front-running Harvester Bees Friday and Saturday.
