Bernethy, Aragon Highlight Blazers' All-DAC Selections
Dallas College North Lake's Danny Bernethy and Gabby Aragon earned First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors. Berenthy was selected as a utility player, and Aragon as a relief pitcher.
Tyler Yancey, Carlos Pirela, Hunter Greenwell and Jake Nicholson were named to the Second Team.
A sophomore from Burleson, Texas, Bernethy batted .378 with four doubles, 33 runs batted in, 11 stolen bases and 34 runs scored. He had a career-high four hits in a win over Dallas College Cedar Valley April 7.
A sophomore right-hander from Fort Worth, Texas, Aragon was 1-2 with two saves, a 3.55 earned run average and 47 strikeouts in 66 innings pitched. He struck out a season-high six batters in two separate games against Dallas College Mountain View.
A sophomore shortstop from Whitesboro, Texas, Yancey hit .319 with nine doubles, three triples, a home run, 16 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 38 runs scored. He had three hits in three games, matching his career high.
A sophomore right fielder from Melissa, Texas, Pirela batted .340 with 11 doubles, a triple, a team-leading four home runs, 31 RBI, six stolen bases and 30 runs scored. He matched a career-high with three hits in five games.
A sophomore left-handed pitcher from Richardson, Texas, Greenwell went 5-6 with a 4.52 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 83.2 innings. He led the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III in innings pitched. Greenwell struck out a career-high 12 batters in a win at Dallas College Mountain View April 29.
A freshman right-handed pitcher from Allen, Texas, Nicholson went 5-2 with a 4.73 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 53.1 innings. He fanned a season-best eight batters in a win at Dallas College Eastfield April 1.
