Baseball Runs Past Mountain View, 14-4

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's baseball team beat Dallas College Mountain View, 14-4, in an eight-inning run-rule victory Thursday.

The Blazers (19-27, 10-15 Dallas Athletic Conference) scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 10-3 lead the Lions (18-28, 6-19) could not recover from. North Lake put the game away in the eighth when the Blazers scored three runs to make it a 10-run game.

Friday's Game 2 at Mountain View was postponed until 2 p.m. Saturday at North Lake. Game 3 is scheduled for noon Sunday at Mountain View.

Five North Lake batters had at least two hits. Jake Williams went 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored. Noah Angus was 2 for-4 with a double and an RBI. Carter Mach went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and a walk. It was his third home run of the season. Garrett Gregory had two hits, scored twice, drove in a run, and had a stolen base. Danny Berenthy went 2-for-4 with two RBI, two stolen bases and a walk.

Tyler Yancey doubled, walked, and drove in a run. Blake Butler was 1-for-4 with two RBI and a walk.

The Blazers outhit the Lions, 13-9. Williams' three hits were a season high.

North Lake starter Gabby Aragon went four innings, allowing five hits, three runs, one of which was earned and four walks, and had six strikeouts. Noe Saracay pitched the last four innings, giving up four hits and a run, while striking out two.
