Blazers Beat Cedar Valley for First League Win

Dallas College North Lake's baseball team won the final game of the first Dallas Athletic Conference series of the season, beating host Dallas College Cedar Valley Sunday, 11-6.

The Blazers (6-11, 1-2 DAC) used a big fourth inning, scoring seven runs to blow the game open. North Lake led 10-2 after four innings. Cedar Valley (7-4, 2-1) scored three runs in the ninth, but it wasn't enough.

The Blazers outhit the Suns, 15-14. It was the third time this season North Lake had at least 15 hits.

North Lake's Garrett Gregory had four hits, including a double. Jackson Earle went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI. Ethan Revilla was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI. Danny Berenthy had two hits in four plate appearances. Carlos Pirela was 2-for-5 with a double. Noah Angus doubled and drove in three runs.

North Lake starter Jake Nicholson (2-0) allowed three runs, two earned, eight hits and three walks, while striking out five to pick up the win. Gabby Aragon worked the last four innings, giving up three runs, five hits and three walks, while fanning five to earn the save.

Cedar Valley's Elian Gonzales, Blaine Thomas, Caden Robertson, Cooper Brewer and Samuel Massi each had two hits.

The Blazers host Dallas Christian College 1 p.m. Monday before beginning a three-game series at Dallas College Brookhaven 12 p.m. Wednesday. The final two games of the series with the Bears will be at North Lake Friday and Saturday at noon.
