Phillips, Lloyd Named DAC Players of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's Shi'Miria Phillips and Katie Lloyd were named the Dallas Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week.
Phillips earned the DAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Lloyd collected the Defensive Player of the Week.
A 5-foot-7 sophomore outside hitter from Dallas, Phillips banged down 12 kills in each of North Lake's two sweeps last week. She had 12 kills, three blocks, including a solo, and six digs in the Blazers' 3-0 win at No. 4 Dallas College Brookhaven. It was the third straight match she's pounded 12 kills. Earlier in the week, she had 12 kills and four digs in the 3-0 win over Dallas College Cedar Valley.
Phillips has 159 kills and 25 blocks this season. She's recorded double-digit kills in six matches this year.
A 5-5 libero from College Station, Texas, Lloyd had 44 digs, 29 receptions, three aces and five assists in the two three-set victories. She finished with 23 digs, 14 receptions, an ace and two assists in the win over Brookhaven. She had 21 digs, 15 receptions, two aces and three assists in the win over Cedar Valley.
Lloyd leads the Blazers with 315 digs and 32 aces this season.
North Lake (13-11, 3-1 DAC) will host Dallas College Richland (12-13, 2-2) at 6 p.m. Monday to complete the first round of the conference schedule.
