Volleyball Hosts Blazers Invitational Thursday-Friday
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's volleyball team will open the season Thursday when it hosts the Blazers Invitational.
No. 12-ranked North Lake meets Northwest Mississippi Community College at 2 p.m. in the season opener. The Blazers will also play Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Thursday and Friday.
Reigning national champion Dallas College Eastfield plays Northeastern Oklahoma A&M 10 a.m. Friday before the Blazers wrap up the tournament with a noon matinee against the Norse.
North Lake went 17-18 last season as 12-year coach Cathy Carter collected her 100th career win in the exciting district semifinals victory over Dallas College Brookhaven. The Blazers bring back setter Hadley Klock and outside hitter Shi'Miria Phillips.
Northwest Mississippi went 28-17 last season, advancing to the district semifinals. Northeast Oklahoma A&M was 5-24 a season ago. Eastfield was 35-0.
