Blazers Score Season-High 7 Goals in Win

ANAHI BERNAL HAT TRICK | NORTH LAKE HIGHLIGHTS

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake women's soccer team beat shorthanded Dallas College Mountain View, 7-0, Friday in a Dallas Athletic Conference game.

It was the Blazers' largest win of the season, and their largest margin of victory since 2015 when North Lake posted back-to-back 7-0 shutouts over Mountain View and Dallas College Cedar Valley. The seven goals were the most since the Blazers beat Cedar Valley, 7-2, Sept. 28, 2018.

North Lake's Anahi Bernal had a hat trick, and Lia Santiago scored two goals, and had two assists as North Lake's offense erupted for five second half goals. It was Bernal's first career hat trick, and her second multi-goal game this season. Santiago recorded her first multi-goal game of the year. Her six points in Friday's win matched her career high.

Santiago gave North Lake (4-5-3, 2-3-3 DAC) a 1-0 lead three-and-a-half minutes into the game when she scored on an assist from Andrea Pachuca. Santiago then assisted on the following two goals, both by Bernal. Bernal put the Blazers up 2-0 in the 16th minute, and then extended the lead to three goals two minutes into the second half.

Natalie Gaytan scored off Brenda Rodriguez's corner kick in the 51st minute. It was Gaytan's first career goal. Santiago picked up her second goal a minute later on an assist from Yanina Mejia to make it 5-0.

Bernal secured the hat trick to begin the 64th minute on an assist from Ruby Morales. Jeiny Nunez capped the scoring in the 81st minute on another assist from Rodriguez.

Nunez has three goals, and Rodriguez has three assists this year. Morales has two assists.

The Blazers finished with a season-high 21 shots.

It was North Lake's third shutout this season.

The Blazers host Dallas College Richland (7-2-1, 5-1-1) at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
