CISCO, Texas – Dallas College North Lake women's soccer team beat host Cisco College, 2-1, Tuesday in the final nonconference game before league play begins.
Jeiny Nunez scored two minutes into the game on an assist from Melissa Morales to put the Blazers ahead, 1-0. It was Nunez's first goal of the season.
North Lake goalkeeper Emely Vargas stopped three shots in the first half to keep the Wranglers off the board.
In the 64th minute, North Lake midfielder Anahi Bernal scored on a free kick to extend the lead to 2-0. It was Bernal's third goal of the year, and her second free kick goal.
Cisco's Esther Poirier scored an unassisted goal in the 85th minute, but the Blazers held on to win.
Vargas finished with five saves for her second victory of the season.
Cisco (2-3-0) outshot North Lake, 14-7.
The Blazers (2-2-1) will host Dallas College Brookhaven (2-2-0) at 4 p.m. Friday to open Dallas Athletic Conference play.
