Bio
Adrian Rigby was appointed Athletic Director at Dallas College North Lake in August 2025, bringing more than two decades of coaching and administrative experience to the role. A visionary leader and accomplished coach, Rigby spent 15 transformative years at the University of Houston-Victoria, where he built the men’s and women’s soccer programs from the ground up and guided both teams to sustained success. In addition to his coaching duties, he served as Assistant Athletic Director for seven years, further strengthening his leadership and administrative expertise.
Under his direction, the men’s program compiled a 150–73–26 record, captured multiple Red River Athletic Conference championships, and made three NAIA Tournament appearances. He was honored as RRAC Coach of the Year four times, and in 2019 his staff received the United Soccer Coaches NAIA West Region Staff of the Year award. His women’s teams also thrived, posting a 113-108-18 record, while earning repeated United Soccer Coaches academic awards.
Beyond the sidelines, Rigby spearheaded initiatives that elevated UHV Athletics, including the Weekend for the Jaguars campaign, the JAG After Hours networking series and the Jobs After Graduation Program, which prepares student-athletes for careers beyond sports. He directed the UHV Athletics internship program in partnership with the School of Business, and served on numerous campus committees, including those focused on academic strategy, scholarships and diversity and inclusion. His commitment to infrastructure and innovation led to several capital projects, including the original construction of UHV’s soccer game field in 2010, a practice field in 2017, and a full-field reconstruction in 2019, resulting in one of the finest collegiate soccer facilities in Texas.
Prior to his time at UHV, Rigby served as assistant coach at St. Edward’s University from 2005-10, helping the Hilltoppers achieve national Top 25 rankings. He began his coaching career at Midwestern State University, where he contributed to an NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearance in 2003, and coached the Southwest Soccer Conference Goalkeeper of the Year in 2004. As a player, Rigby was a four-year starter at Averett University, earning all-conference honors in 1998 and 2001, and in 2013 he was named to the USA South Conference’s 50th Anniversary Team.
Rigby holds a Bachelor of Science in sports medicine and wellness from Averett University and a Master of Education in curriculum instruction and kinesiology from Midwestern State University. He is certified with a USSF B License and NSCAA Goalkeeping credentials, underscoring his commitment to excellence in both coaching and athlete development.
