Stark Selected as DAC Pitcher of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's Logan Stark was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

A 6-foot-6 right-handed freshman from Katy, Texas, Stark tossed six shutout innings in a 6-3 win over National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 6 nationally-ranked Dallas College Richland for his first college win. He didn't surrender a run to the nation's fourth most productive offense, and scattered five hits and a walk with a pair of strikeouts. It was his longest outing of the season in eight starts, which included a month-and-a-half hiatus.

Stark improved to 1-2 with a 5.17 earned run average and 31 strikeouts in 31.1 innings pitched this season.

The Blazers (24-29, 13-14 DAC) will host league frontrunner Dallas College Eastfield (41-11, 22-5) noon Wednesday in the final home game of the regular season. North Lake plays at Eastfield Friday and Saturday to wrap up the season. The Blazers are a game behind Dallas College Brookhaven (23-25, 14-13) for third place in the league. The third place team will have the option of hosting the single-elimination portion of the NJCAA Division III South Central District Tournament next Wednesday.
