
Holmes Selected as DAC Player of Week
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's Anden Holmes was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
A 6-foot-7 sophomore forward from Haslet, Texas, Holmes averaged 19 points and 7.5 rebounds, while shooting 78.9 percent from the field. He hit 4 of 7 three-point baskets, including the knockout blow from the corner in a 65-64 win over Dallas College Eastfield Saturday. Holmes shot 80 percent from the free throw line, going 4 of 5.
He matched his career high with 21 points, while pulling down 10 rebounds, including three on the offensive glass, in the win over Eastfield. He had 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting in a win over Dallas College Mountain View earlier in the week.
Holmes has scored in double figures in each of his last three games and five of the last six. He is averaging 9.5 points and 5.1 rebounds, while shooting 44 percent from the floor, 34.4 percent from the 3-point line and 70.2 percent from the free throw line.
North Lake (14-14, 9-4 DAC) will play at Dallas College Brookhaven (10-18, 7-6) on Friday before hosting No. 11 Dallas College Richland (19-8, 11-2) at 1 p.m. Saturday on NLC TV.
