Smith Selected DAC Player of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's Bryson Smith was chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

A 6-1 sophomore guard from Mesquite, Texas, Smith averaged 19.5 points, five assists and five rebounds as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III third-ranked Blazers beat two NJCAA Division I opponents. In a 90-62 win over Jacksonville College, Smith had 26 points on 10 of 16 shooting, and had six rebounds and three assists. In an 86-65 victory over Redlands Community College, he finished with 13 points, seven assists, seven boards and a steal.

Smith is averaging 13.5 points, 5.5 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and shooting 48 percent from three-point land, 45 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free throw line.

The Blazers (11-4) return to action Jan. 6 at Grayson College. North Lake is the No. 1-ranked NJCAA Division III program and the 49th overall among all junior college teams in the Massey Ratings.
